Baghdad:The Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc has assured the Iraqi public that the period following September 30th will not bring any exceptional repercussions, particularly concerning the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq. The bloc emphasized that the regulation of weapons within the state has been resolved in principle.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Bahaa al-Araji, head of the bloc, stated that while the regulation of weapons has been officially ordered and is nearly complete, it will require some time to fully implement. He highlighted that there is a consensus among all factions regarding this process.

Al-Araji also addressed rumors of American sanctions related to the weapons issue, stating that no such sanctions have been confirmed by the American side. He criticized the spread of these rumors as unrealistic and potentially harmful, reiterating that the regulation decision is rooted in Iraqi national intentions.

In terms of the Peshmerga forces, al-Araji noted that they are constitutionally part of Iraq’s armed forces. He stressed that their armament and funding should align with standards used for other security institutions, reflecting their significance and the size of the population they serve.
