Baghdad:Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi participated in a meeting of the “Four Presidencies” at Baghdad Palace to discuss the country’s general situation and regional developments. The meeting focused on supporting government and judicial efforts, upholding the rule of law, and addressing administrative corruption.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting included the President of the Republic, Mr. Nizar Amedi; the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Haibet Al-Halbousi; the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Mr. Faiq Zidan; and the Prime Minister. The participants emphasized the importance of consolidating security and political stability, as well as improving living conditions and strengthening state institutions.

Prime Minister Al-Zaidi briefed attendees on his participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, highlighting discussions on enhancing Iraq’s international relations. The meeting also covered preparations for Sovereignty Day, aimed at affirming Iraq’s sovereignty and enhancing international partnerships.

The presidencies expressed support for exempting Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport from U.S. Treasury measures and stressed the importance of completing the cabinet to improve government performance. They also reiterated the need for state control over weapons and emphasized legislative priorities to improve citizens’ lives.

Economic challenges amid regional tensions were discussed, with an emphasis on strengthening the national economy. The meeting reiterated Iraq’s support for peaceful resolutions to regional tensions, prioritizing dialogue to ensure security and stability.
