Baghdad:The United States and Iraq will celebrate the completion of the withdrawal of the remaining International Coalition forces on September 30. This announcement was made following a meeting between Iraq’s National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, Qasim al-Araji, and the US Charg© d’Affaires to Iraq, Steven Fagin.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, The meeting covered a range of topics, including security, sovereignty, and the political situation in Iraq and the region. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and partnership in security and economic sectors. Al-Araji emphasized the importance of maintaining Iraq’s security and sovereignty by consolidating state authority, ensuring a monopoly on arms, and supporting state institutions.

Al-Araji also highlighted Iraq’s commitment to building balanced relations with other nations based on mutual respect and shared interests. He stressed the importance of continued cooperation to address common challenges and support paths toward security, stability, and economic development.

The US Charg© d’Affaires reiterated the United States’ support for Iraq’s security and stability, as well as its economic development. He confirmed that the completion of the troop withdrawal marks a new phase of cooperation, reinforcing Iraq’s sovereignty and strengthening bilateral relations.
