Baghdad:The Security Adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Qasim al-Araji, held talks with Jorgen Lindstrom, the Charge d’Affaires of the Swedish Embassy in Iraq, regarding the bilateral relations between Iraq and Sweden. During this meeting, it was announced that the Swedish government plans to reopen its embassy in Baghdad.
According to the Iraqi News Agency, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on the collaboration between the Iraqi and Swedish Ministries of Interior and the judicial field. The talks also covered ways to improve coordination between specialized authorities and centers in both nations to bolster the exchange of expertise and information.
Qasim al-Araji expressed Iraq’s commitment to establishing balanced international relations, including with Sweden. He highlighted the international acceptance and appreciation for Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, which reflects Iraq’s dedication to strengthening cooperation and developing foreign relations.
Jorgen Lindstrom extended his congratulations on the occasion of Iraqi National Day and affirmed Sweden’s commitment to developing its relations with Iraq, including the planned reopening of its embassy in Baghdad.
