Industry Minister Highlights Link Between Sovereignty and Strong Economy


Baghdad:A central ceremony marked National Sovereignty Day and the end of The Global Coalition Forces’ mission, attended by Industry Minister Mohammed Nouri, undersecretaries, directors general, and ministry employees.



According to the Iraqi News Agency, Minister Nouri emphasized that national sovereignty is incomplete without a strong economy and robust national industry. He highlighted the importance of supporting domestic industry, not just as an economic decision but as crucial for consolidating Iraq’s sovereignty and enhancing its independent decision-making.



Nouri stated that the Ministry of Industry and Minerals is dedicated to rehabilitating and restarting idle factories, developing state-owned companies, and improving production efficiency. Additionally, the ministry aims to foster genuine partnerships with Iraq’s private sector and serious investors.



The minister also mentioned plans to support and protect domestic products to build a productive, diversified, and competitive economy, reinforcing Iraq’s reliance on its own national capabilities and resources.
