Baghdad: Qasim Al-Araji Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq, emphasized Iraq’s commitment to enhancing positive relations with Kuwait and respecting its sovereignty.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a meeting on Sunday with Mari Yamashita, the High-Level Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Al-Araji discussed the latest developments in the ongoing efforts to address the file of missing Kuwaiti nationals. The discussions also covered the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions and the cooperation between Iraqi authorities and the United Nations.
Al-Araji stated that Iraq is keen on resolving outstanding issues with Kuwait in a way that benefits both nations and strengthens neighborly relations. He highlighted Iraq’s dedication to mutual interests and collaboration.
Mari Yamashita praised the outcomes of a recent meeting in New York between the Iraqi Prime Minister and the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, pointing out the mutual commitment to reinforcing bilateral relations. She emphasized the importance of continued cooperation on matters of common interest.
