Baghdad: This Sunday morning saw more than 12 million students returning to their schools, marking the beginning of the new academic year as designated by the Ministry of Education.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry had previously set Sunday, October 4, as the official start date for the new school year. To support this, over one million textbooks have been delivered to the Ministry’s warehouses, ready for distribution.

The Ministry’s statement highlighted that the Central Warehouses Directorate, part of the Administrative Affairs division, has been actively receiving new shipments of textbooks. This action is part of the Ministry’s broader plan to ensure all curriculum materials are distributed to the general directorates of education.
