Interior Ministry Takes Action Against Thousands for Residency Violations


Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced that legal measures were taken against 6,020 individuals violating residency terms in Iraq during September.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry’s spokesperson, Colonel Mohammed Ali Al-Hassoun, reported that 1,760 violators were arrested. Of these, 783 arrests occurred in Baghdad and 977 in other governorates. Additionally, 4,260 individuals were deported, with 2,425 deported from Baghdad and 1,835 from the governorates.



The spokesperson highlighted that these actions are part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to identify and take legal and procedural action against residency violators.
