Washington: US imports of Iraqi crude oil fell to zero last week, marking a significant drop from the previous week’s imports of 51,000 barrels per day.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed that despite the halt in Iraqi crude imports, overall US crude oil imports from nine major countries increased. The average import level reached 5.078 million barrels per day, up by 129,000 barrels per day from the prior week’s figure of 4.949 million barrels per day.
The EIA data highlighted that Canada was the largest contributor to US oil imports last week, followed by Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana. Other countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, and Nigeria, continued to supply crude oil to the US at varying levels.
