Prime Minister Al-Zaidi Commends Progress on Residential Land Initiative

Jakarta:Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired a meeting of the Supreme Authority for Coordination among the Governorates, focusing on various economic and development issues. During the meeting, he expressed appreciation for the governorates that have completed the necessary procedures for the One Million Residential Land Plots Initiative, specifically praising the efforts in Karbala and Najaf.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi highlighted the positive impact of the Watan Initiative on citizens and emphasized the government’s commitment to completing the project promptly. He urged governorates to finalize the allocation process for laying the foundation stone before the year’s end and asserted that he would personally intervene if any delays occurred.

Ihsan Al-Awadi, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, reported that Holy Karbala, Najaf Al-Ashraf, and Anbar governorates have fully met the project’s requirements, with significant progress seen in Maysan, Muthanna, Wasit, Baghdad, and Nineveh. Currently, 275,000 plots are ready, with work advancing in seven other governorates.

The government has also mandated all governorates to follow Industrial Coordination Council decisions for preparing 1,000 dunums for industrial projects and to report on their progress. Additionally, preventive measures against Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever will be implemented, with 2 billion dinars allocated for veterinary activities.

In health sector developments, governorates with extensive external roads are required to plan for a 50-bed hospital, especially in areas with border crossings, to ensure rapid medical response for travelers. These hospitals will be equipped with ambulances appropriate for their geographic locations.
