Defense Ministry Seeks Information on Missing Iraqi and Kuwaiti Nationals

Accra:First paragraph of the news story.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense has issued an appeal for information regarding Iraqi and Kuwaiti nationals who went missing during the Second Gulf War. The Ministry has urged citizens, particularly those in the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar, Holy Karbala, Al-Muthanna, Anbar, and Baghdad, along with former employees, officers, and personnel, to come forward with any relevant details.

More than 30 years have passed since the war, yet many families are still searching for answers about their lost loved ones. Tragically, some family members have died without ever knowing the fate of their children.

The Ministry highlighted that any information, no matter how incomplete—such as memories of unusual burial operations, unidentified persons, specific vehicles, names, or entries in records—could be crucial. It stressed that providing such information is a humanitarian duty, serving the nation and supporting the families of the missing.
