Berchtesgaden:Bavaria German police announced on Saturday the arrest of a suspect following a fire at Adolf Hitler’s former mountain retreat, known as the “Eagle’s Nest,” in Bavaria.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police took a suspect into temporary custody after firefighters arrived to find the building fully engulfed in flames.
The “Eagle’s Nest,” or “Kehlsteinhaus,” once served as a fortified residence for the Nazi leader. It was a place where Hitler relaxed with his partner, Eva Braun, and worked on his book “Mein Kampf.” Approximately 200 firefighters and emergency personnel were deployed to combat the blaze in the Berchtesgaden area of southern Germany.
Constructed in 1938 as a guesthouse for Nazi officials, the building is located in a mountainous region of the Alps, separate from Hitler’s summer residence known as the “Berghof.” After World War II, the property was designated a historical landmark owned by the state of Bavaria, serving as a reminder of the Nazi era.
