Baghdad: A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) arrived in Baghdad this morning to hold talks on the draft agreement with the federal government regarding the region’s oil. The delegation consists of Acting Minister of Natural Resources Kamal Mohammed, Secretary of the Council of Ministers Amanj Rahim, and Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Office Abdul Hakim Khosro.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source familiar with the Baghdad-Erbil negotiations, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the Kurdish media network Rudaw yesterday that the draft agreement on the delivery and export of oil is in its final stages. He indicated that the most prominent amendment to the agreement is the delivery of all produced oil, in exchange for the federal government securing the Kurdistan Region’s needs for oil products.
