Baghdad: Basra police arrested a man accused of fraud and deception under the pretext of securing employment.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Governorate Police Media Office stated: "The Al-Asma'i Police Station detachments were able to arrest a suspect wanted under Article (456) of the Penal Code, after he obtained money from citizens in exchange for false promises of employment."

The statement added: "The arrest came after careful surveillance and investigation," noting that the necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect and he was referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigation.
