Diwaniyah: A sit-in protest was held at the entrance to Afak district in Diwaniyah to protest the landfill at the district’s entrance. A number of residents of Afak district, east of Diwaniyah province, staged a sit-in at the district’s entrance to demand the removal of the landfill due to foul odors and plumes of smoke.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the protesters called on the government and Diwaniyah municipalities to address and remove the landfill.
