Baghdad: Minister of Agriculture Abdul Rahim al-Shammari met with Brazilian Ambassador Alfredo Leoni to discuss the development of the poultry sector and the expansion of agricultural cooperation. The two parties agreed to move forward with signing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in the fields of livestock and plant production.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting between Minister al-Shammari and Ambassador Leoni was aimed at exploring prospects for joint cooperation in bolstering the poultry sector and strengthening the agricultural partnership between Iraq and Brazil. The discussions took place in the presence of the Ministry’s Technical Undersecretary.

Al-Shammari expressed his eagerness to enhance bilateral relations and broaden cooperation in agricultural domains, emphasizing mutual benefits for both nations. Ambassador Leoni highlighted various topics related to the poultry sector and reiterated Brazil’s interest in deepening cooperation with Iraq’s Ministry of Agriculture, building on the historical agricultural ties between the two countries.

The Brazilian Ambassador extended an invitation to Minister al-Shammari to visit Brazil, aiming to further develop a more advanced agricultural partnership. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to move forward with the signing of MoUs focused on livestock and crop production, enhancing cooperation and supporting agricultural sector development in both countries.
