Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi conducted an inspection visit today to the National Security Clearance Office, affiliated with the National Security Advisory. Al-Aboudi reviewed the office’s operations and met with the Director General of Security Clearances, Ammar al-Rikabi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during his meeting with the staff of the National Security Clearance Office, al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of facilitating and simplifying procedures related to granting security clearances and security vetting for state employees. This includes eliminating security vetting for employees granted leave, such as those on one-year, five-year, and maternity leave. Additionally, he highlighted the need to facilitate security approval and vetting for retiring employees, streamline the security vetting process for postgraduate students within Iraq, and separate the Civil Defense branches from the security clearance offices.

He also stressed the necessity of digital transformation and automation between the National Security Clearance Office at the National Security Advisory and its branch offices in ministries, non-ministerial entities, and governorates.
