Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji stressed the importance of the international community standing united against terrorism during his meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Baghdad, Glenn Miles.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Chancellery issued a press release indicating that the meeting took place on Wednesday. The discussions were centered around enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Australia to benefit both nations and their citizens. Al-Araji highlighted the serious threat posed by ISIS to global security and stability, urging for a unified international stance against terrorism.
Al-Araji also reiterated Iraq’s commitment to the security and stability of the region, emphasizing the Iraqi government’s efforts toward development and progress while upholding democratic processes. In response, the Australian Ambassador extended his congratulations to Iraq on the successful parliamentary elections and the appointment of the Speaker of Parliament and his deputies. He also commended Iraq’s efforts and positions in combating terrorist organizations.
