Al-Asadi Inaugurates New Orphanage in Anbar, Reinforces Commitment to Child Rights

Ramadi: Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi inaugurated a new orphanage in the Ramadi District of Anbar Governorate, highlighting the government’s dedication to child protection and orphan care. This initiative aims to create a secure and respectful environment for children across Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Asadi emphasized at a press conference that the opening of the orphanage marks a significant national milestone. It aligns with Iraq’s recent removal from the UN report on child protection, signifying substantial progress in preventing violations against children. Furthermore, it coincides with Iraq’s accession to the Global Alliance to End Violence against Children.

The orphanage was developed by the Projects and Construction Department of the Ministry of Labor, as part of the investment plan projects benefiting the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs. The facility can accommodate approximately 60 orphaned children and was constructed at a cost of 490 million dinars.
