Baghdad: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim, expressed on Saturday his belief that the ongoing crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz is a temporary issue and will eventually be resolved. He emphasized the importance of learning from the current economic crisis and highlighted several key areas for reform.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim addressed a group of student leaders during the Baghdad Diwan activities. During his speech, he congratulated them on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday and the birth anniversary of Imam al-Sadiq (PBUT). He also offered condolences on the anniversary of the death of Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim.

Al-Hakim urged adherence to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, particularly in terms of humanitarian values, and emphasized the moral mission of the Prophet. He noted the profound impact of morality on an individual’s life and highlighted the Prophet’s humility and simplicity.

He elaborated on the social dimension of Islamic practices, such as congregational prayer and zakat, suggesting these reflect individual responsibility towards the community. Al-Hakim called for an active role in society, urging young people to connect with influential entities capable of enacting change.

Addressing Iraq’s economic challenges, Al-Hakim noted the decline in oil revenues due to export limitations and emphasized the need for diversifying export routes beyond the Strait of Hormuz. He advocated for a shift away from a rentier state by activating agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology sectors through practical efforts and legislation.

Furthermore, Al-Hakim highlighted the importance of state control over weapons, expressing appreciation for armed factions in combating terrorism. He reiterated his support for anti-corruption efforts and the Development Fund project as a means to stimulate the private sector.
