Al-Hakim Urges Leaders to Prioritize Public Interest and Honor Election Commitments

Baghdad: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, emphasized the importance of prioritizing the public interest over private interests and the necessity of fulfilling electoral promises. Al-Hakim’s remarks came during a meeting at his office with Bafel Talabani, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, where they discussed the current political landscape in Iraq and the region, as well as strategies for addressing the constitutional requirements of electing the president and forming the government.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim underscored the need to prioritize public interest, which he believes is crucial for preserving security and social stability in Iraq. He urged political leaders to fulfill the electoral promises made to the Iraqi populace and suggested that the observance of the holy month of Ramadan could serve as an opportunity for increased dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.

Al-Hakim also called for a cessation of military escalation in the region, arguing that war and violence would only lead to further conflict. He advocated for dialogue as the primary means of resolving disputes and emphasized that diplomatic communication is the most effective path forward.
