Baghdad: Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, has issued a message urging bloggers, journalists, and politicians to cease campaigns of mutual insults and fabricated accusations. Al-Maliki emphasized that such actions worsen already strained relations, which should be maintained as fraternal and sincere.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Maliki appealed to media professionals and politicians, regardless of their policies and positions, to stop spreading ‘dirty laundry’ and concocted issues. He warned that these practices open the door for discord and harm, deepening rifts between partners in the national political process, ultimately benefiting no one.

Al-Maliki specifically addressed supporters, thanking them for their stances and support. He urged them to defend with kind words and responsible positions, avoiding attacks or insults against others. He emphasized rejecting statements or attacks against any associated party and called for careful consideration before publishing or responding.

Highlighting the current circumstances in Iraq, al-Maliki urged promoting positive discourse and avoiding actions that deepen disagreements. He stressed the need for strategic awareness, political vigilance, national cohesion, and understanding of regional plans to preserve unity and protect Iraq’s future.

Al-Maliki further called on adversaries to adopt dialogue and respect, refraining from campaigns that increase tension. He acknowledged differences of opinion as legitimate but warned against personal animosity. He noted that enemies rejoice in attacks that deepen divisions and weaken the national front.

Concluding his message, al-Maliki urged maintaining respect, prioritizing Iraq’s interests, and using discourse for de-escalation and rapprochement. He expressed gratitude to supporters, hoping their support promotes love and stability, serving Iraq away from offending others or engaging in pointless arguments.
