Al-Mandalawi: Continuing Turkish Aggression and Cutting Off the Waters Will Disturb the Historical Relations and Harm the Common Interests

Baghdad Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed that the continuation of the Turkish attacks and the cutting off of water would disturb the historical relations and harm common interests.

The media office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated: “Al-Mandalawi met today, Wednesday, the Ambassador of the State of Turkey to Iraq, Ali Raza Güney” and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Mandalawi called for quickly resolving the water file once and for all in a way that guarantees Iraq’s full water rights in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, pointing out that the continuation of Turkish aggression and cutting off the water would disturb the historical relations between the two friendly peoples and harm the common interests between the two countries.

It was agreed that joint technical committees should be formed between the two countries in coordination with the ministries of interior and foreign affairs and the concerned authorities, to deal with important files, including those related to facilitating the granting of entry visas to both sides.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Mandalawi confirmed that the House of Representatives will have a different position in the event that the previous attacks were repeated.
