Baghdad: The Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, convened a meeting today with a delegation of former officials and speakers of the Council of Representatives. This gathering included former Speakers Osama Al-Nujaifi, Salim Al-Jabouri, Ayad Al-Samarrai, and Hajim Al-Hasani, as well as former Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Al-Mutlaq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the ongoing political situation and the challenges currently confronting the country amid recent rapid developments. Discussions included the political process’s obstacles, Iraq’s stance on the unfolding events in Syria, and the forthcoming constitutional obligations within Iraq.

Al-Mashhadani shared his insights regarding the political landscape, anticipated constitutional responsibilities, and challenges facing the nation. He also solicited feedback from the former officials, who provided their perspectives on various issues impacting the country.
