Baghdad: Al-Naft achieved an important victory at the start of their campaign in the new Iraqi Premier League season, defeating Al-Karkh 2-0 in a match held at Al-Karkh Stadium.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brazilian professional Caio Bonfim scored both goals for Al-Naft in the 12th and 22nd minutes. Al-Naft’s Sami Heen was sent off in the 50th minute after receiving a red card. Al-Naft maintained their lead until the final whistle, securing their first three points of the new season.
