Baghdad: The Rusafa Police Command has successfully apprehended a group of thieves responsible for stealing 29 million dinars from a citizen’s vehicle. The arrest, which highlights the police’s vigilant efforts in combating crime, brings a sense of relief to the community.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, detachments from the First Sadr Anti-Crime Department managed to catch the perpetrators after they staged a car accident to distract the vehicle’s owner. Taking advantage of the situation, one of the suspects seized the opportunity to steal the money.

The suspects, upon arrest, confessed to the theft and four other similar crimes. Among the confessed crimes was a significant theft involving 70 million dinars, alongside other incidents in the Karkh district. The suspects have been detained under Article 446 of the Penal Code, and appropriate legal actions have been initiated against them.
