Baghdad: The Head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai, has hailed the Federal Supreme Court’s decision to reject the lawsuit concerning the amendment of the general amnesty law as a victory for justice and a step towards redressing the oppressed. Al-Samarrai expressed these sentiments in a message posted on his account on the (X) platform, emphasizing the significance of the court’s decision.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Samarrai stated that the Federal Court’s rejection represents an important step in correcting the course of justice and redressing the oppressed. He extended congratulations to the families of innocent detainees who stand to benefit from the ruling. Furthermore, Al-Samarrai acknowledged the judicial authorities’ commitment to supporting legislation that serves the interests of citizens, underlining that the completion of this law aligns with the political agreement established with various political forces.
The Federal Supreme Court’s decision on Tuesday included the rejection of the appeal filed against the laws of general amnesty, personal status, and the return of real estate. Additionally, the court canceled the state order that had been put in place to stop their implementation.
