Al-Shammari Directs Regulation of Traffic and Facilitation of Pilgrims’ Movement During Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Karbala: Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee for Mass Pilgrimages, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, has issued strict directives to regulate vehicle movement and ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims heading to the holy city of Karbala, in preparation for the Arbaeen commemoration of Imam Hussein (PBUH).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Ministry reported that Al-Shammari conducted a field tour on Wednesday evening, accompanied by the head of the service committee, the commander of the ground forces, Karbala Operations Command leaders, and the police chief of the province, to inspect the main routes used by pilgrims.

The tour included monitoring the flow of pilgrims along Karbala-Babylon road, particularly the segment from Al-Salam bridge to Umm Al-Hawa checkpoint (eastern axis), where the Minister reviewed the condition of vehicle parking areas and the adopted inspection mechanisms.

During the visit, Al-Shammari issued several directives aimed at improving traffic flow, facilitating pilgrims’ access to Karbala, and ensuring the provision of optimal services. He stressed the need for enhanced coordination among all relevant security and service bodies to ensure the successful and precise implementation of the organizational plan for this significant religious occasion.
