Najaf: The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, has called for appropriate action to be taken against political and service entities that display his images and banners in public spaces, particularly along the routes taken by pilgrims heading to visit Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in an official statement issued on Saturday, the office noted: ‘Some political and service groups have been placing images of His Eminence on their banners and posters displayed in public places, especially on the roads used by pilgrims.’

The statement reiterated the office’s clear rejection of such practices and urged all parties to refrain from them. It also called on the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to prevent their recurrence.
