Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed security developments and their repercussions on the security and sovereignty of the region’s countries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the call included condemnation of the military escalation, along with an emphasis on the need to avoid the use of force and to work towards adopting dialogue and diplomatic solutions as the only way to resolve the crisis and spare the region further tension and instability.
Both sides stressed the importance of major powers and international organizations assuming their responsibility in maintaining regional and global peace.
