Al-Sudani and Siemens Iraq Discuss Enhanced Energy and Infrastructure Cooperation


Baghdad: The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, engaged in discussions with the director of Siemens Iraq, Muhannad al-Saffar, focusing on enhancing cooperation in the sectors of infrastructure and energy.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved a comprehensive review of the current progress in power generation plants and maintenance networks. Both parties explored future strategies to adopt modern technologies aimed at boosting Iraq’s production capacity. A particular emphasis was placed on utilizing available fuel sources and associated gas for electricity generation, which is seen as a critical step towards improving the country’s energy self-sufficiency.



Al-Sudani underscored the significance of partnering with reputable international firms to execute strategic projects that meet required specifications. He highlighted the need for such collaborations to aid the path of sustainable development in Iraq. Furthermore, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of maintaining Siemens’ active presence in Iraq, acknowledging the company’s role in the implementation of projects and development within the energy sector.
