Basra: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed on Tuesday that no deductions be made from the bonuses of oil sector employees, emphasizing the preservation of their full rights.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the Basra Oil Company administration said, “Based on the telephone call that took place between the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil and the Director General of the Basra Oil Company at 4:00 PM today, regarding the rumors circulating about deductions from the bonuses of oil sector employees, al-Sudani categorically confirmed to the Director General that no deductions would be made from the bonuses of oil sector employees.”

For its part, the Basra Oil Company reassured its employees that their rights are protected and inviolable, emphasizing the Prime Minister and the Minister of Oil’s appreciation for the sector’s significant efforts and its substantial support for the country’s economy.
