Al-Sudani Initiates Investment Model for New Sadr City Housing Project

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has directed the preparation of the investment model for the first and second phases of the new Sadr City, which will include 60,000 housing units. Al-Sudani’s directive was issued during his chairing of the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the New Sadr City Project.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting reviewed the latest referral procedures for projects and components of the city’s infrastructure related to the first phase, which encompasses 11,000 housing units. This initiative follows the decision made by the Council of Ministers during its session on November 26, 2024.

The Prime Minister has mandated that a daily report be submitted concerning the measures taken in this regard. Furthermore, he instructed that direct invitations be sent to well-known and reliable consulting companies to undertake consulting tasks for the projects and components in the new city, ensuring that the project’s progress is continuously monitored and executed efficiently.
