Erbil: Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi held phone talks on Tuesday with Mr. Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, regarding the attacks that targeted several sites within the region.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Media Office of the Prime Minister stated that Al-Zaidi strongly condemned the drone attack directed at the private office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the residence of the Director of the Protection Agency (Parastin). He emphasized that such attacks pose a threat to Iraq’s overall security and stability, viewing any threat to the Kurdistan Region as a threat to Iraq’s national security.
The statement further highlighted that Prime Minister Al-Zaidi reiterated the government’s firm stance against any attacks on Iraq’s territory, institutions, or citizens. He affirmed the state’s commitment to protecting Iraq’s security and sovereignty, assuring that the competent authorities would investigate the circumstances of these attacks and pursue those responsible in accordance with the law.
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani expressed his gratitude to Al-Zaidi for his prompt communication and concern, stressing the importance of ongoing coordination and cooperation between the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to enhance Iraq’s security and stability and protect its citizens.
