Baghdad: Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, has instructed security forces to enhance their measures following a tragic incident south of Baghdad. Two members of the security forces were killed while on duty in the Dora district, leading to increased emphasis on deterring attacks against state personnel.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi expressed his sorrow over the deaths of Brigadier General Hisham Muhammad Tala’, Director of the Al-Amana Police Department, and Officer Khalid Abbas Lafteh. Both officers lost their lives while accompanying service detachments tasked with removing encroachments in the Dora, Karara, and Tigris districts. Al-Zaidi emphasized that the blood of these martyrs will not be shed in vain.

Al-Zaidi reassured that the government is committed to monitoring the health of the wounded from the Ministry of Interior and Baghdad Municipality, wishing them a swift recovery. He condemned the attacks on security and service institutions, reaffirming the government’s resolve to enforce the rule of law and pursue those responsible for the attacks.

He stated that the security services have been directed to tighten procedures, secure the area of the incident, and bring all involved to justice. Al-Zaidi stressed there would be no leniency for anyone targeting state personnel or undermining the law’s authority.
