Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has confirmed the existence of strategic plans aimed at achieving economic reform and resolving the ongoing electricity crisis. The announcement came during a meeting with Mohammed Sahib al-Daraji, head of the political body of the Services Alliance, and other alliance members. They convened to discuss several key issues spanning various sectors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office highlighted that the government is actively working to create optimal conditions for the development of national products. This includes the advancement of a draft law for the Food, Drug, and Medical Supplies Authority, which is expected to significantly contribute to food and drug security while bolstering local products.

The statement further elaborated on al-Zaidi’s focus on implementing important plans for economic reform, tackling the electricity crisis, and enhancing investment opportunities. A significant aspect of these plans involves regulating foreign labor to ensure job opportunities for the local workforce.

Members of the Services Alliance expressed their support for the Prime Minister’s initiatives, particularly in the areas of combating corruption and pursuing economic reforms. They also pledged their backing for the government’s efforts to enact significant legislation aimed at furthering these objectives.
