Algiers: The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today the severing of its diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates. The decision marks a significant development in the bilateral relations between the two nations, with Algeria citing exhaustion of all means of preserving relations as a reason for the severance.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Algerian ministry issued a press release stating, “It has been decided to sever diplomatic relations with the UAE after exhausting all means of preserving relations.” The statement highlighted that the UAE ambassador has been given a 48-hour deadline to comply with the decision to sever diplomatic ties.
The ministry further elaborated that the decision was made in response to “increasing provocative and hostile actions emanating from the UAE,” indicating a serious deterioration in the diplomatic relationship. The precise nature of these actions has not been detailed, but the move signifies a deepening rift and a significant geopolitical shift in the region.
