Amedi Stresses Need to Ensure Justice for Anfal Victims’ Families and Protect Their Rights


Baghdad: President of Iraq Nizar Amedi stressed on Tuesday the need to ensure justice for the families of Anfal victims and safeguard their rights.



According to Iraqi News Agency, President Amedi received a number of families of Anfal victims at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, in the presence of Member of Parliament Sarwa Mohammed. The meeting discussed their conditions and needs, while the president listened to their demands and aspirations.



During the meeting, the president affirmed that ensuring justice for the victims and safeguarding their rights is a national and moral responsibility. He underscored the importance of documenting these crimes and preserving the national memory to ensure that such tragedies are never repeated.



Amedi also stressed the need to support and care for the families of the Anfal victims and provide them with compensation commensurate with the violations and acts of genocide they suffered, emphasizing the need to protect their rights and ensure that they receive the necessary care and attention.



For their part, members of the delegation expressed their appreciation to the president for his attention to their issues, stressing the importance of continuing to support their rights and meeting their needs.
