An upcoming visit of the Greek Foreign Minister to Iraq

Baghdad Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will visit Iraq during the coming period in the context of strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.

A Foreign Ministry statement said that Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met today, Saturday, with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the thirteenth session of the Sir Bani Yas Forum, which is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation being held in Emirates”.

During the meeting, according to the statement, they discussed opportunities to enhance prospects for joint cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

A number of files of common interest were also discussed, in addition to developments on the regional and international arenas, and they exchanged views on them.

According to the statement, during the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of working to develop economic relations by strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, infrastructure and tourism.

The statement added, and at the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to arrange a visit by the Greek Foreign Minister to Iraq during the coming period, within the framework of strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.
