Najaf: The Mishkhab district, located south of Najaf, is currently experiencing a wave of protests following the arrest of a local civil activist. Residents have gathered in anger, demanding the release of Muhannad al-Fatlawi, a prominent figure known for advocating improved public services in the area through both ground efforts and social media platforms.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the protests have garnered support from activists across various governorates, all uniting to voice their discontent over al-Fatlawi’s detention. The Najaf Police Command has confirmed that the activist was arrested based on a judicial order and is being held for four days pending investigation. This action was taken in response to lawsuits filed under Article 433 of the Penal Code.
