Baghdad, Head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, confirmed: The Parliament is looking forward to the arrival of the budget next week.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the delay in the arrival of the budget was caused by the reduction in the exchange rate of the dollar and the increase in the deficit, indicating that the government is continuing its procedures for a service budget without a large deficit.

He explained: The Parliament needs between 40 to 50 days to approve the budget.

The official spokesman for the government, Basim Al-Awadi, confirmed yesterday that the vote on the budget in the Council of Ministers will be in the middle of next month.
