Baghdad: The 27th Baghdad International Book Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, witnessed a variety of cultural and artistic activities on its fifth day, Sunday, September 6, 2026. These activities, part of the fair’s cultural program, were met with enthusiastic participation from visitors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the fair also hosted a seminar titled “Women and the Book: From Reader to Maker of Awareness and Change,” organized by the Administrative and Financial Department of the Ministry of Trade. The seminar discussed the importance of reading and books in developing awareness, and the role of women in producing knowledge and generating ideas.

The events also included an art workshop titled “Draw It Your Way,” presented by visual artist Saif Nabil Mohammed. This workshop aimed to encourage participants to express their ideas and visions through unique artistic styles, providing a space for free creativity and the discovery of artistic talents and abilities.

As part of its cultural outreach efforts, the Japanese Embassy hosted an interactive event featuring Japanese calligraphy, karate demonstrations, traditional games, and a Japanese clothing trial, introducing visitors to aspects of Japanese culture and heritage and promoting cultural exchange.
