Baghdad: The Baghdad International Book Fair is being hailed as a symbol of Iraq’s resurgence in the cultural and intellectual domains.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan, during his visit to the 27th edition of the fair, emphasized Iraq’s commitment to reclaiming its historical stature in global cultural discourse. Faihan toured the event’s pavilions, engaging with the latest works presented by Iraqi, Arab, and international publishers.

Faihan underscored the significance of the fair as a testament to Iraq’s revitalized role in the world of culture and intellect. He highlighted Iraq’s rich heritage, noting its ancient contributions to literature and civilization, tracing back to the days of Babylon and Assyria. This historical context, he suggested, positions Iraq as a pivotal player in the sphere of cultural knowledge.

Further, Faihan assured that the legislative body stands ready to support the success of the Baghdad International Book Fair and similar cultural events. This commitment aims to reinforce Iraq’s reputation and leadership in nurturing knowledge, thought, and culture on an annual basis.
