Baghdad: The Ministry of Reconstruction and Housing is nearing completion of the Baghdad-Kirkuk road paving project within the boundaries of Diyala Governorate. The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities announced today that the project, spanning a 110-kilometer stretch, has reached a completion rate of 88%.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated in a press release that the project is being implemented under the supervision of the Roads and Bridges Department. The paving work has been completed on all sections between Adhim-Injana and Injana-Adhim for both directions, totaling 30 kilometers for each lane, alongside the 50-kilometer Khalis-Adhim section. Work on the road shoulders is also nearing completion.

The ministry added that the paving, planning, and expansion works on the Khalis-Hibhib section have been completed for a length of 10 kilometers for both directions. The remaining works include furnishing the road, maintaining six bridges along its route, and organizing the Al-Safra intersection by creating acceleration and deceleration lanes. These efforts are in preparation for the full completion of the project, which has now reached 88% completion.
