Baghdad: The Baghdad Municipality confirmed on Saturday that there is a directive regarding the provision of services to pilgrims on the Ya Hussein road axis.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Ali Hassan Lafteh, Deputy Mayor of Baghdad for Technical Affairs, stated, "The Baghdad Municipality has intensified its service efforts within the framework of the Arbaeen pilgrimage plan for Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), by directing the municipal departments located on the Ya Hussein route to provide the best services to the Husseini processions and pilgrims." He highlighted that the Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Moussa, has instructed the municipal departments along the Ya Hussein route to focus their efforts on serving the pilgrims and processions, ensuring all necessary service needs are met.

Lafteh further explained that the municipality is actively working to supply tap water and potable water for pilgrims and procession organizers while also addressing the removal of accumulated waste along the road.

He also noted that the Baghdad Municipality has organized a special procession aimed at raising awareness among pilgrims and procession organizers. The initiative encourages maintaining cleanliness, preserving the environment, rationalizing water consumption, and maintaining the aesthetic of the area.
