Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced the outcome of the security operation that took place today in several areas of Karkh and Rusafa.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement that, in pursuit of outlaws and raiding unlicensed weapons dens, large-scale security operations were conducted to search and inspect the region, scrutinize foreign labor files, and execute judicial arrest warrants in the areas of (Al-Baladiyat, Sha’ura Umm Jadr, Al-Mada’in, Al-Zafaraniya, Al-Nahrawan/Al-Dawanem, Al-Mahmoudiya, and Kafa’at Al-Dawra) on both the Karkh and Rusafa sides.
These operations resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects under various legal provisions, including one accused under Article 4/1 of Terrorism, and others accused of drug trafficking and possession of unlicensed weapons. A number of unlicensed weapons and ammunition were also seized. The command explained that this comes through the formations of the 17th Infantry Divisions (1st, 2nd, and 5th Federal Police) and the Baghdad Police Commands in Karkh and Rusafa, with the support of the intelligence agencies and agencies attached to them, to enhance security and stability and preserve the security achievements achieved.
