Baghdad Operations Command Shuts Down Unlicensed Charcoal Plant and Arrests 15 Foreign Nationals

Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has announced the closure of an unauthorized charcoal production plant and the arrest of 15 foreign nationals for violating residency and citizenship laws in the Taji district, north of the capital.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated that the operation was part of a larger initiative under Committee Order No. 241285. This initiative involved cooperation with detachments from the National Security Service and the Rusafa and Karkh Environmental Police. The objective was to inspect and close unlicensed factories, plants, and metal smelting furnaces that violate local regulations.

The Command emphasized that the operation was aimed at reducing environmental pollution caused by the emission of gases and odors from production processes. The authorities have taken necessary legal measures against the violators and the plant’s operations have been officially halted.
