Basra: The head of the Basra Provincial Council, Khalaf Lafteh al-Badran, announced a comprehensive health and security emergency plan in collaboration with various council committees, aimed at preparing for any unforeseen events in the province.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, discussions are actively ongoing with certain committees within the Provincial Council to implement a plan that monitors the local market. This initiative is intended to prevent merchants from taking advantage of current circumstances. Additionally, strategies for the province's health institutions were part of the discussions.
Al-Badran highlighted that the Investment and Development Committee within the council was also involved in discussions. He emphasized the continuous communication and oversight by the council's committees, which have previously engaged in meetings with the Operations Command, police, and relevant security agencies. These meetings have resulted in the formation of a security plan to manage any potential emergencies, while maintaining the province's current state of security stability.
Furthermore, Al-Badran mentioned ongoing dialogues to guarantee the consistent supply of petroleum products, such as fuel and cooking gas, as well as gas for power plants. Reassurances have been received from companies in the oil sector, which operate under the Ministry of Oil.
