Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, in a telephone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, affirmed Iraq's condemnation of the unjust war on Iran and its readiness to exert efforts to end it.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release that Al-Sudani made a telephone call to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he affirmed Iraq's rejection and condemnation of the unjust war targeting Iran, and its commitment to the security and safety of the region and its brotherly peoples.
The Prime Minister expressed readiness to exert efforts to end the war and return to the logic of dialogue and peaceful solutions, far removed from the language of force. He stressed the Iraqi government's commitment to the security and sovereignty of Iran and its refusal to allow any party or individuals to use Iraqi territory as a launching pad for attacks against Iran.
Al-Sudani emphasized that the attacks targeting Iraqi territory constitute a violation of Iraq's sovereignty and security, which is unacceptable and undermines Iraq's efforts to end the war and return to dialogue.
The Iranian President expressed his gratitude for Iraq's stance rejecting the use of force in resolving conflicts and for the Iraqi government's efforts to maintain security and stability in the region. He also affirmed his country's commitment to Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
