The local government in Basra dispatched a fleet of buses towards the holy city of Karbala to assist in the return journey of pilgrims commemorating the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Aqeel Al-Fariji, head of the security committee in the provincial council, explained in a press statement today that the plan includes sending 44 modern buses, as directed by Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, in addition to renting extra buses. Four buses have also been allocated to transport security forces sent from Basra to Karbala.

For his part, Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs, Zaid Al-Imara, confirmed the ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Oil to secure fuel for the buses in both Basra and Karbala, ensuring the smooth flow of the return journey and supporting efforts to transport pilgrims.
